The inaugural conference of the Nepali Academics in America (NACA) showcased the intellectual diversity and scholarly depth of Nepali academics. It also aimed at facilitating collaboration for knowledge production and sharing around the world.
This conference featured 15 different sessions and panels on various collaborative research topics, such as, higher education policies, climate change and disaster risks, public health concerns, protected areas and forest management issues, tourism and development, COVID19 impacts on migration, and technology adoption in agricultural sector in Nepal.
In our Inaugural General Assembly, we were honored host two honorable Guests: Ambassador Dr. Arjun K Karki, who spoke on "Nepali Diaspora Academics and Fostering Academic Collaboration between Nepal and the US” and the keynote speech by Prof. Surya Subedi, "Economic Diplomacy for Development in Nepal: The Role of the Diasporic Academic Community."
This assembly also approved the constitution, bylaws, and membership codes of ethics, along with updating the general members with reports on finance, memberships, and strategic initiatives.
